Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a black color with a small head. Smell is of roasted malts, some black currant. Taste is the same as the aroma. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

Currently, the contents of a pint can have been emptied into a clear glass liter mug for appraisal. The color of very dark brown, this also brings a neat little tan head, temporarily. An aroma of roasted malt is assisted by a hint of berry-like fruitiness. The Stout is rich and very smooth. The taste of the current in the mix is pleasantly subtle. Perhaps it adds a little sweetness, maybe a little body or maybe both. There's no glass lacing and very little taste of the 8.5% ABV. Maybe it's a bit sweeter than many in the style, but the finish is remarkably clean and dry. Quite the accomplishment for something this rich. Even the carbonation seems exactly right. With its richness and ABV, this makes a very good warmer.

The beer pours black lightening to a dark rubyish brown around the edges. It’s dark brown head dissipates slowly to a thin film and it leaves rings of lacing.
The flavor and nose both start out with some slightly burnt char, which lends some bitterness to the taste. There’s also dark chocolate, a hint of smoke and a little sweetness that’s like vanilla. I did not get any black currant in the nose at first, but it shows itself beautifully towards the end of the flavor as a cranberry-like subtle juicy tartness that’s also a bit sweet. After I taste the currants, I can pick it up in the nose as well.
The feel of the beer is medium bodied and there’s moderate carbonation. Finish is semi-dry and there’s just a little lingering bitterness and sweetness. It’s surprisingly refreshing and easy to drink for a bigger ABV beer.
Over all this was a fantastic stout with really smooth malt flavors that lead really nicely into the subtle juicy sweetness of the currants.

Pours brown-black with decent head from can to glass. Smell is chocolate and toffee malts and berries. Taste is similar but the fruitiness is more integrated. Mouthfeel is touch thin but not bad. Overall, not exceptional but a solid stout with a different twist. Buying from local businesses is good, and these guys make it so easy...

-belgian globe. on tap brewery.
A: Dark, sleek black color has a nice tan head of 1 inch which retains rather well. No visible carbonation, the lacing sticks rather well with a spacious speckled patterns.
S: The nose was of rich dark chocolate and silty coffee and cocoa. Nice level of awareness with touches of sweet dark fruit and black currant berries.
T: Rich sweet roasted malts, dark chocolate blends with a silty dark minerality, light milky roast, and fresh dark fruit. Minimal touches of the dark currant influence, smoothly bitter, roasty, and balanced.
M: Milky creamy mouthful, medium body, lightly carbonated has a smooth and slippery feel that slides off the tongue with ease as well the alcohol detection which is hardly noticeable at 10.0%.
O: A rich, very smooth and silky drinking stout that is very well brewed, very clean and polished flavor wise. Rich chocolate and roasty nature with touches of dark fruit and currant berries goes down very nicely for 10.0%. must try.
