fresh growler fill from tonight poured into a snifter.
A- a perfectly clear amber with decided ruby hues. A dense, very tight bubbled egg-shell head sits on top, about a finger and a half worth. Sticks around quite long for the ABV. Nice lacing.
S- Mostly esters from the Belgian yeast. Some spicy components, orange peel, and candy sugar.
T- A very nice showcase of the flavors Belgian yeast can impart without going over the top into the "funky" realm. Candy sugar malt notes throughout the sip. Light notes of spice, white grape, and orange peel are in the background. Not much balancing bitterness. Alcohol is well hidden.
M- Medium to full, slick on the palette. Just a touch dry on the finish.
O- A very, very nice offering from St. Boniface. Love being able to get Belgian ale from a local brewery!

Poured light brown with a beautiful head into a snifter. Very aromatic with aroma of esters, orange, and spices. Taste is subtly complex with all the above ingredients playing a supporting role. Taste is strong but the alcohol doesn't overwhelm. Mouthfeel is almost mousse like, the alcohol doesn't overwhelm making this beverage go down very easy. Overall, this is a fine example of a Belgian Strong Ale.
