Pours a nice effervescent off white head that dissipates quickly but leaves a thin layer on the surface. Beer itself is anot interesting color. It's a nice brown color. The look is pretty good.
The taste and smell both have a nice dark fruit notes. Specifically there seem to be fig notes that blend well with the Belgian sugar. The sugar both manages to blend and stand out.
The feel is heavy but smooth and drinkable. The carbonation is light but still adds something. The body has a certain thickness to it that works well.
Overall, a very good beer and worth it. It's a very well executed beer. Try it.

5/24…by now rating skills have been impaired. Pours a reddish brown, notes of figs and raisins. Sweet. Dark fruit. Hearty and complex flavor, very good. Nicely made.

Good beer, oddly very little smell. Very clear look. Deep amber color. Tart flavor.

On tap at Proletariant in NYC; fourth beer of the night, pours dark reddish amber color with a creamy off white head that leaves good spotty lacing. Smells really malty with caramel, toffee, rum or red wine, yeast, toasted grains and some syrup or brown sugar. Tastes of red wine/dark rum, toffee, brown sugar, oaky notes, fruit soaked malt and graham cracker. Nice malty flavor and body with hints of leafy hops, peat moss and candied sugar. Nice stuff, Belgian influenced and sweet with nice red wine notes. Pretty tasty overall (especially considering how many different beers I've had tonight, this malt profile stood out).
