From the pint can, it pours a clear chestnut brown color with a nice light tan head that slowly reduces and leaves lacing. The nose gets nice scents of roasted malts. The mouth follows with a pleasant dry version of a German dunkel.

From a can. Pours a rich chestnut, clear, with a short white head that fades away completely after a few minutes. The nose is malty, toasty, slightly nutty. Toast, nutty, and toffee; some bitterness from the hops. Medium bodied with a Clean, dry finish.

Medium brown with a decent head. I've had glasses that showed rocky lacing, others that didn't show much - so it's probably in between on average. Looks pretty clear, though it's dark enough to make things behind it hard to see - and there might be a slight chill haze.
Fairly soft feel with a lightly nutty and root-like finish, seeming slightly bitter and fairy dry. Nose takes a little to develop, but medium toast and a bit of slightly roasted nuts, the latter growing over time. Mix of mineral and malt to open, a hint of grass in the end bitterness, but overall the taste was expected from the nose.

Served on-tap at Kardinal Hall in a pilsner glass.
Brown hue with light beige head and ample lacing.
Malty bread crust aroma
Flavor is subdued but malty and beady with good Munich malt/melanoidin character. Low bitterness. Could be a bit more robust in the maltiness but a good representation of the style.
Medium body with a nice dry finish for a malty dark lager.
Nice change of pace beer but wish the maltiness was increased a notch.

Port some white head that dissipates quickly. Beer is a clean and clear brownish copper. Smell is clean lager yeast note. Moderate caramel note. Light roast and light bitterness. Taste has a more upfront bitter hop note. Light honey finish. Caramel malt is in the back. Body is medium and smooth with biting carbonation. Clean feel. Overall, enjoyable but nothing compared to the others in the series.
