Originally brewed as ALX275. Brewed as an ode to our hometown, Alexandria, VA! ALX IPA pours clear as day and contains floral and stone fruit aromas. Bold. Balanced. Crisp and a bit quirky - just like Alexandria.

Can (third from 4-pack, enjoyed first two a bunch without a review):
Reminds me of an old school Ocelot beer with a very pale color and a light haze; it might have a little better head (cotton white and sustaining. The nose is a bit grainy, but with an earthy bitterness opening up to a very pithy citrus and a little pine. If this were my first time trying it, I'd be fearing a middling taste given the earthiness I am getting in this pour. The nose has a nice strength and shows bitterness, but in a way that has me worried.
And then the taste comes, and my fears evaporate. White grapefruit peel with a light honey grain bread that peeks out before being trampled by grapefruit, pineapple skin, and in short order - spruce-laced pine. Very light and crisp feeling, with just enough malt to not fall into hop water realm.
To me, it definitely leans old school WC IPA, with the thin malt presence giving the hops a relative boost. It's not devoid of some cirtus notes, but they are crushed / muddled with herbal notes to lessen their effect against the pith and pine bitterness. It's just my kind of IPA.

The beer pours as nice white and creamy head that dissipates quickly. The beer itself is a clear golden yellow color that looks really nice.
The smell is good. It has a nice and sharp bitter grapefruit and pine note alongside a light and bready malt note.
The taste is good. It's moderately bitter with a grapefruit note upfront and slight pine in the finish. There is also some stone fruit in the finish as well.
The feel is good.
Overall, this a good old-school American IPA: bitter, decent body but not too much body, and easy to pair with food. I strongly recommend this one if you're looking for a small nostalgia trip.
