A tribute to classic West Coast IPAs. Hopped with a classic blend of Citra, Centennial, Chinook, and Cascade hops, the beer will bring you back to when every IPA was bright and sharp. Bold & Bitterful bursts with bright citrus, pine, and resinous hop character, and delivers assertive bitterness. At a refreshing yet robust 6.8% ABV, this IPA finishes dry, and leaves a satisfyingly bitter bite that you'll want to keep sipping. Embrace the bitterness and do it boldly.

Bottle just over a month old:
A pale golden body with a light haze and a fluffy white head. Head falls but is easily revived and does provide some lacing. Nose is a bit weak, and I am getting mostly lemon to lemon and grass with a weird funk that I think might be the more resinous notes of the hops used trying to come out... but they aren't making it.
The taste comes around to bring out what I was hoping for - a lightly malted, fairly crisp and bitter beer. It might be a little light on the feel, but there is a nice carbonation. The bitterness grows with each sip, so it does take a slight ramp up to get to older school extra-bitter WCIPAs. A bit of a grainy opening leads to some dirty citrus rind notes. Pine and maybe a little fleck of mint fills in from there. By the late taste, the beer has brought the bitterness expected with more or less the flavor profile I was hoping for.
A little less in-your-face than the IPAs of old. But I tend to think the latest revision of WCIPA does tend to be a little less heavy and therefore a slight bit more approachable and drinkable overall than the face-rippers of old. If the aromas showed off the hops better and there was a more direct path to the bitter hop profile, this would likely get a notch higher set of scores from me.

Pours hazy gold, clears a bit as it warms, dense white head, excellent retention, thick bands of lace
Pine, herbs, a bit of citrus, and tea aroma
Tastes a lot like how it smells, a bit of doughy malt
Medium bodied, fluffy, appropriate carbonation
A really nice IPA. I wouldn't call it WC, but has a lot of the characteristics
