Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium to dark bronze amber with a two finger off-white head with good retention and thick lacing, looks nice. Aroma of lightly caramel malt, grassy hops with a lightly floral note. Flavor is light caramel and biscuit malt, dry grassy hops with a Continental profile, toffee and the same odd light floral hint as the aroma. Finishes with lingering non-herbal hop bitterness. Medium bodied with light creaminess. An odd crafty IPA brewed locally in the old Woodinville site that used to brew Redhook, now run by Pabst, although the label makes it look like a local small brewery. Pretty much what I expected from its origins, an unassuming IPA with a charater like many early domestic IPAs that were based on the British style. The hops seem picked for that model. The malt is mild but supports the pedestrian hops satisfactorily. A pedestrian, but drinkable effort that allows me to tick this brewery without drinking soda pop "beers" they also brew. Ironically this is more like "my father's IPA", i.e. old fashioned, than most on the market.
