Found in a store, collecting dust. Great bargain. Excellent example of the style.

Pours a dark near-black color with two fingers of creamy tan head. The head has great retention, leaving a ring of lacing as it settles into a film.

The aroma is full of sweet milk chocolate and toasted almonds. The back end brings notes of caramel, plum, and dark roasted malts.

The flavor brings dark roasted malts, baker's chocolate, dark roast coffee beans, and caramel. Finishes with a faint kiss of hops. Very roasted and smokey throughout.

The feel is full bodied with moderate carbonation. Very creamy and smooth. Alcohol is very well hidden.

Overall, a very good roasted porter. The flavors are light enough to make this one an easy sipper, but strong enough to stand out. Nicely done.

Pours black with some very dark brown and mahogany hints at the edges and a nearly two fingers of dense light-medium brown head, excellent retention and lacing. Aroma is semi or bittersweet chocolate, dark malts, and a burnt edge. Taste is a bit more muted but hits the same notes as the aroma with the chocolate presenting a bit sweeter. Full bodied, well carbonated, very creamy. Overall I really dig this beer. It's not a classic porter but it's super tasty.

Beige head which lasts throughout the tasting. Good ring/spotty lace. Dark brown color. Light passes through the edge of the glass.

Milky, chalky aroma with a strong presence of semisweet chocolate.

Like powdered cocoa, there's light milk, sweet chocolate, and mild hoppy bitterness. Full body but with a good level of carbonation. Overall a well balanced Porter with lots of complexity.
