cool beer, awesome name and packaging, these guys pretty much get an automatic purchase from me when i see beer from them i havent had, i have been so enormously impressed with their entire portfolio, they have more than earned my trust and admiration, although this is not my favorite of their work. it is fashioned somewhat as a hoppy berliner, or sour ipa, one of those wheaty low alcohol highly dry hopped medium acidity sour beers that are starting to be real popular. i like that this isnt overly refined, still hazy and pretty harsh on the lacto side, but it just doesnt come together as well as some of their seemingly more patient brews. sharp lacto up front, apparently soured in the mash or the kettle, and hugely juicy hops on the nose, citra and mosaic and maybe some amarillo or even something southern hemisphere, it has such a bright citrus and tropical profile, pineapple and lime and tangerine, very nice there, mouthwatering in the nose and it all translates well to the flavor. a little too much acidity for how light the base beer is, i found myself glad i was sharing a bottle. the hops are awesome though, and the high carbonation is a cool feature for the mouthfeel. enjoyable but maybe not as compelling as much of the rest of their work. a nice morning brew being so juicy, almost a stand in for cheap orange juice with all its acidity...

Bottle. Pours very hazy and yellow. Aroma is tart and tangy. Maybe even a light hoppiness to it? Maybe some wheat? Flavor is very tart. Zesty. Amazing how much flavor is there for a beer clocking in at 3.6%. The body is light but has some texture. Another well done Mystic brew.
