Copenhagen 10/5 2018. 75 cl bottle from Mikkeller Web shop. Stony, Seaside supplemented with a lot of explanation about the beer and its ingredients on the label.

Pours hazy, dirty yellow with very big white head. Settles as thin bubbly layer of foam barely covering the surface of the beer. No lacing.

Aroma i sour and fruity. Citrus, Juniper berries. Lemonade-like sweet wheat is slightly more subdued. Strong citric notes.

Light carbonation. Slightly thick texture.

Flavor is lightly sweet followed by strong acidic sourness. Aftertaste is sour with a strong salty undercurrent. Lingering. Semi-dry finish.

Fine balance between the strong sourness and the salty flavor. Nice take on a German Oddity.

A light yellow body with a thick white head. The body is fizzy with some sediment swirling around. The head is rich and lacy but dissipates quickly.

Smells like a sandy beach with a strong yeast smell and light hints of moss, salt, coriander and heat.

The flavor is very traditional Gose. Salt forward with a lingering sour. There's a strong coriander presence with hints of orange peel, juniper and pine. Nothing crazy intense but also nothing that makes it stand out far from traditional plain Goses.

The beer has a wonderful body with a perfect amount of sharp carbonation. Both body and carbonation add to the experience of the beer.

Overall, this is a very drinkable Gose. Even though it's rare, I wouldn't run to the store to snag one but if you do see it on the shelf, I would recommend grabbing it.

A- Pale as can be with a super hazy appearance to the body. A thick foamy cap rises up to about two fingers with great retention. Lacing comes in small webs.

S- A balanced Gose nose with equal amounts of lactic acid, rustic crusty whole grains, a bit of funk, coriander and then a hint of juniper in the back.

T- The juniper comes into its own here but still doesn't overtake the rest of the prized balance. Juniper berry leads to floral coriander, sea salt, lemon juice, heavy lactic acid yogurt bacteria and even a touch of sour underripe stone fruit.

MF- Fluffy and light-bodied with a creaminess coming on with slight agitation. Medium level of carbonation suits the flavors and the finish is plenty sour.

Gradual build in the overall sourness but this brew turns out to have a wonderful balance of lactic acid, underripe stone fruit, salt and spices.
