Introducing the Wham Zinger, a new whopper of a Double IPA. We packed this fella with a whole mess of Chinook, Mandarina Bavaria, and Mosaic, giving it tastes of tangerine and pine with a fine floral finish. Clocking it at 8.5% this DIPA has got some gumption, but gee whiz does it go down smooth.

Pours a cloudy, murky orange with three fingers of lasting antique white head.
Muted orange, grapefruit, alcohol and clove in the nose.
Big malty, syrupy taste — like a triple IPA or American Barleywine — with dull orange, grapefruit, lingering pine bitterness and a strong alcohol bite.
Full bodied and creamy feeling with relatively low carbonation.
I like big, sloppy beers that smack you upside the head with booziness. This has some of that, but the flavors aren’t dialed up to match, making it seem pretty muted and boring, IMO.

Poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a a nice looking hazy burnt yellow/orange color with a stifled little white foamy head. Mild lace stuck around the glass.
The aroma opened up with pureed mangoes initially then developed some tangerine pulpy sweetness and mild ruby red grapefruit pulpy notes.
The flavor yields to the overall sweetness clinging to the mangoes fully and never leaning to the right or the left to find any sort of balancing bitterness. It's not bad but noticeable. The aftertaste is pureed mangoes with a touch of pineapple stickiness.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fine sessionability. Some stickiness but not cloying. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt on par. Finish was !Angie's and pineapples.
Overall, so many New England styled DIPA's on the market and I look at this beer and think-it has potential but I wouldn't turn one of these down if offered.

Poured from can into tulip at Brewery
Pours a lovely opaque golden orange with a fluffy head. Head goes away but leaves enough to lace the glass after each sip.
The nose picks up orange juice right off the bat then it hurts with grapefruit juiciness.
Taste follows suit with juicy orange and bitter grapefruit. There is also some sweetness that is akin to mango and hints of papaya.
Medium bodied and smooth drinking. Finished clean.
Overall a damn good IPA. Probably one of the best I've had from Mystic. I'm glad to see these guys venture more into the American spectrum of beers but hope they stay true to their Belgian inspired roots.
