Can. Brut DDH DIPA DDH DIPAA DDHHIPAAA. Pours hazy. Something like that. Nose is honestly pretty soft. Does not live up to the acronym frigate presented on the can. Flavor is interesting. It starts off with all that jazz. Fruity, dorky hops. It dries out pretty damn quick though. Fruit juice rolls in but is immediately ushered out of the room. Actually it is sort of remarkable. Akin to a closed valve. Here today, gone in 2 seconds. I was expecting to crucify this beer but it's actually a bit of a science experiment. Like drinking orange juice then stuffing cotton balls in your mouth.

Can. Hazy golden yellow with head that falls to island and ring. Nice citrus and pineapple but that carries over to heavy fruity sweetness -- NOT hyperdry. Light soft body. Cloying bad aftertaste. Blech.

This is my first Brut IPA, had out of a can.
Smell: Smells hoppy, but not in a piney overwhelming sense. Can make out distinctive features around the overall fruitiness. Notes of berries were dominant.
Mouthfeel: Light, crisp, clean, bubbly. Almost no alcohol burn. The can went fast. Really doesn’t play like a traditional DIPA.
Taste: refreshing. Makes me miss summer. Berries, stone fruit, and light bites of green apple. Honestly, felt like I was drinking a solid sparkling wine.
Overall: whoa. This challenges my beer experience in a way I did not anticipate. Glad I bought a 4-pack. Also glad I have other IPAs to drink to reset my palate. Definitely recommend.

Draught at the source.
Clear yellow with a chill haze in the glass. Citrusy hops in the nose but not an overabundance. Light peach and perhaps grapeskins. Light bodied with a thinnish mouthfeel. Watery. Zero malt or bitterness on the palate with a moderate hoppiness. Finishes with fading citrus and thin.
Easy drinker but I was definitely left wanting more hops and body.

I have had a few Brut IPAs from other brewers and have not been impressed, but Mystic gets the style right with this one. It successfully incorporates the subtle grape flavor and dry feel of champagne into a beer with tropical fruit tastes, without going overboard on the wine characteristics. It gives you the best of both beverages - I've got a good feeling about this!
