Pours a vibrant dark orange with three fingers of antique white head that last a good while and leave soapy rings of lacing.
Orange and grapefruit in the aroma with some herbal spiciness behind.
That spiciness is more evident up front in the taste, where the citrus also takes on more of a candied orange flavor. There’s a definite creaminess to the taste as well. The finish has a dull bitterness to it that’s not quite pithy and not quite earthy — maybe something in between.
Full bodied with a lightly creamy feel and moderate carbonation.
This is a beautiful-looking beer that other New England IPAs should aspire to. The exact pairing of candied orange and herbs here isn’t really to my personal liking though. Fans of Transient may enjoy this one.
