This new addition to our IPL lineup is in contrast to many of our other IPLs and hop-forward lagers because it’s even more injected with hoppy and bitter goodness!
The approach that WSBCo. usually takes towards IPLs is balancing out the hops with some malt backbone and maybe a little light caramel sweetness. Not with Tundra King. This beer is all hops. Big piney nose. Rich citrus flavors. Tongue curling bitterness. Just like the left-coasters like it!
Brewed with a simple Pilsner malt base for a mesmerizing sunset gold hue that you could find in SoCal or the Arctic, and then flooded with Simcoe, Centennial, and Columbus hops in the brewhouse and dry-hop to give Tundra King an aggressively dank West Coast hop profile.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 12/19/2017. Pours slightly hazy golden orange/amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Great dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of tangerine, lemon, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, citrus peel/zest, light pepper, pine, toasted bread, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big tangerine, lemon, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, citrus peel/zest, light pepper, pine, toasted bread, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, lemon, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, pepper, pine, toasted bread, light caramel, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with zero yeast notes present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 7%. Overall this is a delicious IPL. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish. Not too aggressive. Great balanced juicy/dank hop complexity; clean bready malt backbone, with minimal residual sweetness. Columbus, Centennial, Simcoe hops. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example. Love the hop profile as expected.

Billed as a west coast IPL. Look is medium orange and clear. Smell does not deliver much. Taste is huge bitter, sharp and intense. Flavor is light citrus and dank. Feel is crisp, malt medium. Overall a nice beer, but not remarkable
