This was the first beer I had on the 2022 Christmas trip! My daughter Rachel picked the brewery and did a great job!
This beer war poured from tap . It was a dark reddish mahogany color with a creamy beige head and excellent curtain lacing. Smell and taste of dark fruit and caramel. Flavors of toffee and dark dried cherries. Nice warm boozy beer. Rich, full feel. Great way to start the holidays!

On draft, Loosa, Tuscaloosa, AL. 2017 batch.
Pours a deep, dark, rust-hued crimson. Good color, with an ivory head of foam that doesn’t have much clinging lace to speak of.
Way fruitier and sweet on the nose than I expected! The cherries come out strong, with a subtle but really nice tartness. Really liked the nose, the combination of cherry, wine, herbs, and subtle malt work really well together.
Dark fruit, hints of oak, cherry pits, and sweet red wine all play together on the flavors. The bitterness in the finish is making it a bit medicinal to me. The flavors are good, but while it’s tasty it also lingers like herbal medicine.
Medium carb, warm with a good weight and smooth finish. Lingers a little bitter, with a light booziness that gives a good warmth as it goes down.

Poured from 32 oz growler into nonic pint.
A: Clear medium brown with a slight purple tint. Smallish one finger head that settles quickly to a thin ring. Little to no lacing.
S: Cherries, bourbon, red wine, and caramel. Some light Belgian yeast esters.
T: Mix of red wine and bourbon combined with caramel and brown sugar.
M: Medium body with fairly light carbonation. Alcohol is apparent but welcome.
O: Interesting twist on a BSDA.

On tap at the brewery. BSDA aged in a Jim Beam barrel that previously held red wine (!!).
An ensorcelling, interesting beer that has distant traces of tartness to complement the sugary sweet base. Complex and rewarding.
