My server of this beer indicated that he brewed this and that this keg was held longer than the previous ones before being offered and that the aging seemed to help by allowing the malt to be more robust. He referred to it as being nearly coffee like. I wouldn't go that far, but there was a full roast quality (I'd say "brown" roast) but not like coffee, and moving towards a touch of toffee and not chocolate. But is was full in flavor for a smaller beer and even the feel was bigger than the abv would imply. Some nice mingling with the house Belgian yeast that emphasizes the malt over the spices or phenol, but gives a touch of them nonetheless. Quite dark but not black with a smallish head allowing a full pour. The aroma was tough to pick up and lacked the malt character of the flavor and was closer to the yeast in a more neutral way. A nice fuller flavored beer at a closer to session size.
