Reviewed from notes (had to wait for the brewery to be added). Steel City are very interesting producers, as they seem to brew in very small batches and do variations on base beers, trying to find which version is the most successful. I tried This Corrosion on cask at The Wenlock Arms in London.
A-Pours dark amber with almost no head. Thin ring of off white bubbles.
S-Interesting. First whiff reminds me of a urinal cake. When I get more acquainted with it, I get autumn aromas of burning leaves, twigs, and damp earth. Intriguing to say the least.
T/M-Dry bitterness followed by an herbaceous spicy note that is hard to pin down. Finish is dry and bitter. Medium bodied with low carbonation.
D-Would be hard to drink more than a pint, but I appreciate this experimental brew as a welcome change of pace in the cask pantheon.
