The porter is a dark brown sweet full-bodied beer. There is an initial citrus hop flavor right at the beginning which gives way to chocolate, caramel, and toffee flavors.

The Porter has nitrogen which gives it a full bodied, creamy texture. The nitrogen helps to hold in most of the sweet flavor and aroma until it is drank.

The original porter was brown, low in alcohol, and sweet. The porter as a style is a precursor to the more commonly known stout. Porters since that have evolved to become richer, darker, and more alcoholic.

Our porter is an homage to the original easy drinking beer.

New beer from the Clocktower. They tend to brew "standard" beers so I wasnt expecting anything different from this one.

Poured a dark amber, more dark red than brown with a thick nitro-induced head. Here we go...Nitro. Smell was slightly chocolately, thats basically it. Taste, light, VERY light. With respect to body, if it wasnt for the nitro, this would be lighter than some of their regular beers! Taste, creamy chocolate with a touch of vanilla.

Pretty underwhelming for sure. They obvioulsy use the nitro so they can make a light beer to sell to people who really dont like "porters'

I wish Clocktower would start experimenting and making some interesting beers. Look to places like Brassiere Des Temps across the bridge.

Again, a standard no frills beer from clocktower.
