Gusher. Pours black with a thin tan head that quickly fizzes away into nothing and leaves no lacing.

Huge toffee, caramel and vanilla in the nose. A little shoe leather behind.

Chocolate, chocolate, toffee, cherry, marshmallow and vanilla in the taste, with some nut in the finish.

Full bodied and creamy feeling with Pop Rocks fizzy carbonation.

The aroma in this is straight-up candy bar. The taste is thankfully a bit darker and very drinkable. Aside from the gushing and pitiful head, superb.

Stout aged in Blanton's Bourbon and Weller Bourbon barrels both containing Ecuadorian vanilla beans. Conditioned on piles of toasted walnuts, and English toffee.

Poured from 750mL waxed bottle into a glass. Pours sludgy and thick - nice, viscous legs left on the glass.

Aroma is absolutely amazing!! Smells like melted marshmallow and vanilla with subtle undertones of blueberries.

Taste is heavy on vanilla/marshmallow with subtle hazelnut, and I'm getting some blueberry in the taste as well - although I don't think blueberries were used in this beer.

Mouthfeel is rich and lovely - goes down with a velvety smoothness.

Overall - this beer is simply exquisite! Full, rich and decadent! I wasn't sure what to expect with this being my first chance to try a barrel-aged beer from Parish - but this was mind-blowing. I have a bottle of Caribbean Shade on deck that I can't wait to try after this one. Well done!!
