A new edition to our fruited sours, this heavily fruited Berliner is brewed with rice flakes and lactose, creating a smooth and creamy mango nectar. Madagascar vanilla and loads of fresh mango purée combine to produce an immensely crushable sour reminiscent of tropical Japanese mochi ice cream.
Mango Mochi is the follow up to and inspired by the original Mochi we made last year in collaboration with our pals from Great Notion.

This gushed upon opening, overcarbonated. That said, massive mango aromas and flavors rush out. Pretty fruit-forward, a true fruit smoothie. Medium mango sweetness, mild lemon tartness, a bit of creamy lactose. Medium full bodied. Drekker level pulp.

Cloudy orange juice concentrate appearance.
Medium bodied, Medium light carbonation which added up to a very nice feel.
Aroma is super fresh ripe mango, rice syrup, with some earthy fruit rind.
Taste is sweet but not at all cloying with an earthy mango taste and finish. An odd and very late bitterness shows up eventually but not unpleasant.
Overall it was a really great beer.

We ordered this from Tavour, chilled in the fridge and poured into an imperial pint glass. This one exploded when I opened it and it took over five minutes to pour, so if you are in a carpeted area, get to the sink before you open it and put your greatest beer patience face on for this one.
Look: yellow mango color with a HUGE amount of foam (an entire glass when we first poured) that dissipated slooooooooow leaving more yellowish foam that eventually dissipated into a pulpy yellowish foam lacing.
Smell: holy mangos Batman... mango in the nose, sweet malt and perhaps some trailing vanilla.
Taste: After waiting for five minutes for the foam to dissipate. (Yes I was annoyed), we got big carbonation up front with a little sour, subtle mango that is mellowed by the rice flakes. There is a bit if trailing vanilla and malt.
Feel: Big carbonation feel followed by a rice and lactose induced smoothness. Medium to light mouthfeel.
Overall: While first impressions aren’t everything, the exploding foam of this beer did make it tough to enjoy. However, once the beer cleaned up and pulled itself together it was quite tasty. We love Parish, and being from the PNW we really thought the nod to Great Notion and their mochi series would be fun to try.
Cheers everyone!

L: These foam up a ton so open very carefully. Pours like orange juice with a huge white head.
S: Strong mango with a bit of vanilla.
T: Mango and vanilla with the rice adding a unique element.
F: Heavy carbonation
O: Really interesting beer. I’m usually disappointed by these types of beers, but the taste actually resembles mochi which is cool.

Bright yellow opaque body with a white cap and lazy lacing. Huge mango with vanilla and table sugar for the smell. Taste adds hints of pineapple in the background, but mango is all of its juicy and sweet nectar glory is the star. Light, sweet and fruity feeling, bright and nectar like. Clearly a new world berliner, I would rather categorize as a fruit beer, but parish didn't ask this rev.

A: The beer is very hazy to cloudy whitish yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head.
S: Moderate aromas of vanilla are present in the nose along with notes of mangos.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of mangos and vanilla.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and a bit smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The use of rice lightens up the body of the beer and makes it very easy to drink.
