2017 vintage. 16 oz. can from Beercraft. Starts out with a normal enough pour, Dark brown with a small ring of head. Aroma brings the peaty smells, with a hint of ash and smoke. Taste amps up the aroma notes, caramel, toffee, peat, tobacco, a hint of brown sugar. Earthy and slightly bitter. Scotch ale with a mild sweet edge.

I had this beer at a beer bar in Truckee, CA. during a Sacramento beer week event. When I order beers here I never ask what kind of beer it is I just order everything I have never had. I was expecting a barrel aged stout, but this was more of a barrel aged barley wine. Light red caramel in color. Light mellow bourbon flavor to the beer that goes really well with malt flavors of the beer. This was definitly a hight ABV beer but I can find nothing on this beer.
