Enjoyed at RBSG. Snifter.
Murky reddish dark orange with a finger of beige froth that fades in half a minute. Grainy, biscuity malt profile with sweet dark fruit characteristics. Much grape and plum-like brandy notes. Earthy hop aromatics emanate from the glass. Gingerbread in the flavor with a firm lower moderate bitterness and restrained alcohol. Brandy presence is pervasive, imparting plum, prune, and grape notes. There's a touch of caramel in there as well. The beer is medium in body with lower medium carbonation. I haven't had the base beer but there's a lot of brandy character here and it's pretty nice despite the fact that it's subjugating.
