A malty mouthful without much carbonation. Hops are interesting and richly aromatic. Resiny flavors fill the mouth but don't obscure the big malt. I would swear it has cumin in it, but in any case a pleasant spiciness. Brewer says it has Cascade hops with some Northern Brewer as well. Definitely a better balance than a lot of pale ales. Amber color in the pint glass with a little less lacing than most bottled beers.
The Blue Heron seems to have a style of plenty of malt. This one is quite drinkable with an interesting mix of flavors that rise out of the basic malty sweetness.
