I had this beer on-tap in a pint glass at the brewery.
Appearance: totally black with a finger of tan foam. A nice dark porter.
Smell: lightly roasty and caramelly with a light intensity. Good but subtle.
Taste: caramelly and toasty with a bit of bite and an astringent finish. It's an alright porter; I'm not sure how much the rye helps.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and creaminess. I like it!
Overall: something about this beer just doesn't quite do it for me. It's not terrible, but something about its hard edges doesn't appeal to me.
