On nitro tap at Newhall Refinery in Newhall, CA.
Pours a clear light yellow with a foamy white head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of grain, fruit, honey, and very subtle chile aromas. Taste is much the same with fruit, yeast, and slight chile flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of chile heat on the palate with each sip. This beer has a low level of carbonation with an almost flat and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is an average beer that is pretty subdued for a chile beer, and there is really nothing else about this one that makes it in any way memorable.
Serving type: on nitro tap.

I tried this today, and when I went to search for it I came up blank. I tried this at the Capital Beer and Tap room in Sacramento CA. They had a keep the glass night featuring tap it brewing from San Luis Obispo and the beer's listing said 'nitro pepper pi', brewed with scorpion chiles, 4.0% abv. It was poured, nitrogen tap as indicated, into a standard pint glass. The color was yellow gold, clean white foam cascaded until it rested at about a finger width head at the top. Faint smell, not too much chile on the nose as I've come to expect from chile beers. The taste was crisp, light, smooth mouthfeel from the nitro, definitely a pale ale, light hops. After the drink, a faint chile spice builds and lingers in the throat, very interesting beer. Would pair great with Mexican food or a nice bbq, definitely a great summer beer! If anyone has more info on this I'd love to know, tap it is a young brewery, and so far I haven't been let down by their product, and now I have a pint glass to remind me :)
