Nice place, very average as far as decor, with some beer pics up and around, but it is clean. Rachel did a nice job of service, especially at the beginning where she went through the beers and some of the menu; although she did start to slack off as it got busier. Nice selection of beer, even if it wasn't huge, and a nice selection of food, too. The buffalo chicken sandwich was very good, as were the fries. It was rather nice to hear the brewer talking business at the bar. See beer reviews for my take on those.

Being from Hendricks County I stop by a few times a month. It is setup to be more of a sports bar scene. Everytime it has been enjoyable. The service is hit or miss. The more busy it is the worse the service is. The beer selection was barely ok before the introduction of the house beer. Like another reviewer stated, the IPA is lacking. So far the house beer seems to cater to the mainstream drinkers. I do enjoy the Scottish Ale and the Common. Overall this place is good. I hope that the brew begins to develop. Definitely has potential.

I went here the night that they unveiled their own beers and to meet some friends to watch hockey.

A: It's a simple, but nice place and the addition of an outdoor patio should make it even better. Being there on an event night meant it was very crowded, but it didn't seem overly noisy. Plenty of TV's to watch sports on

Serv: It started out really well as our waitress was talkative and very helpful, she also changed the TV channel at our request, which was nice. As the evening wore on she was visibly stressed by how busy they were and was clearly trying to get us to leave even though we were ordering drinks and food constantly. A less busy night might offer better service.

Sel : The big draw of the night was the unveiling of their beers, and they had about 5 listed, but only 3 available. Other than their own they had a couple offerings from Sunking. Overall a bit disapointing.

Q: Simply put their beer has a long way to go. I started with the IPA, which was mild by any standards and had an odd fishy taste. Next I tried the california common, which was better, but still nothing that would make you seek this place out. Other people at the table tried some of the other house beers and the consensus was clear when most people switched to Sunking drafts after 1 or 2 house beers.

F: The food is good and decently priced. On the menu you'll find the typical brewpub offerings, plus a couple unique items. I stuck with the wings and and found them to be pretty good.

While the service is probably normally not as bad as it was that night and the food is good, the poor quality of the beer leaves a lot to be desired. I can't see my self returning to this place anytime soon.

When you walk in you are greeted by a hostess they have ample seating and plenty of T.V.'s I chose to sit at the bar there are only 6-7 seats at the bar. After sitting down I noticed what they had on tap, 3 Sun King beers, 2 Upland, and 1 Oaken Barrel. I was really let down by their selection. With only 6 taps I do not know what they will do once they start brewing I assume the will then only carry the beers they make. On the upside all beers come in 20oz glasses and all are $5. I ordered a Sun King Osris and their custom hamburger. The food/selection was pretty good with hamburgers, tenderloin sandwiches, and other standard pub food. I hope they get more taps, once they start brewing I will try them again but before then I see no reason to try the place again with Black Swan just up the road.
