On-tap at Hoptomic. Consumed after a sample of the non-fruited DIPA; I prefer this one a bit more, and I can tell immediately. The brew pours a brassy copper hue and is capped with a persistent cap of ecru froth; lace ensues. The passion fruit is immediately apparent, but not obtrusively so; instead, it is gently folded in the aromatic bouquet of the hops, sitting side-by-side notes of tangerine, evergreen and mango-sap. The taste follows the aroma's cue, with a lighter sugar cookie-like base maltiness. Passion fruit, again, is in the mix but not overpowering in any way, and the whole thing is on the mellow side of the style. The feel is correspondingly light for a DIPA, but I like that. Overall, this is a nice treatment, and a fairly enjoyable take on the style.
