32 oz. growler poured into a goblet.
Appearance - A vigorous pour yields a miniscule off-white head. Almost no lacing. Just a ring around a deep brown, opaque body.
Smell - Roasted malts and lactose. I don't get any bourbon, which is disappointing.
Taste - Roasty chocolate flavors and a lot of lactose sweetness. Almost overwhelming. Again, where's the bourbon? Finishes with some roasty bitterness.
Mouthfeel - Thin, but I expect that from a milk stout. I don't expect it from such a high ABV beer. I get almost none of the alcohol. It's very well hidden and it makes this a very drinkable and dangerous beer.
Overall - I'm not the biggest fan of milk stouts, but that doesn't excuse this. It's over the top on the lactose and I don't get any bourbon. I hate to give it a poor rating, since I love Tequesta Brewing Company and they're making such good beer, but this is a miss for me.

A- Pours a dark brown, near black with a decent head that vanishes fairly fast. No lacing left behind
S- Fairly light in the nose. Roast and a bit of coffee smoke, with only a very subtle whiff of the bourbon notes. The lactose, coffee creamer smell is there as well
T- Fairly on the sweet side, mixed in with the light roast and thin body of this one. The little hints of the barrel age in the the nose were nowhere to be found in the taste, but the hops make a short appearance at the end.
M-Thin bodied, and very slick on the palate. Mild creaminess, but none too memorable.
O- Not overly impressed with this. It's a good beer, but it just missed out on the bourbon barrel. Wouldn't say no to another offered to me, but would look at the other options first before ending on this again.

Poured out of a growler into my Duvel tulip.
A – Pours out a dark mahogany brown color. One inch of tan head that quickly settles down into a nice coating. Spotty lacing left down the glass.
S – Sweet malts in the nose with a nice roasty smell.
T – Starts off with a nice and lightly sweet chocolate milk taste. Roasty malts throughout. Vanilla. Has a tiny bit of bitterness to it. Bourbon flavors roll through at the very end. Not a big bourbon but just enough to let you know its there.
M – Medium bodied with pretty solid carbonation. Creamy and slick on the palate. Smooth.
O – Nice flavorful stout. ABV is expertly hidden and you do not even notice it. Has light tastes throughout. Really solid and flavorful.
*Reviewer is a total homer for Matt and his TBC brews. He strongly suggests you find some and try them for yourself.
