Poured from fridge temp. Pours motor oil black with little head. Nose is crazy amount of coffee! That's pretty much all I get on the nose. The taste follows in a similar path. Tons of coffee grounds, oatmeal, roasted malts, and some burnt wood. Mouthfeel is creamy. Overall, a really nice porter.

Big thanks to KickInTheChalice for sharing the growler with me.
Poured from the growler into a pint glass, big rich tan head over a very dark, peat moss colored body. The head dissipates mostly, no lacing. The nose reminded me of Italian roast (read: burnt) coffee beans, chocolate, and a touch of crushed red pepper.
Huge malt taste followed by vanilla, caramel, bitter chocolate undertones. No sweetness from those flavors though, which was a bit surprising. As the beer warms, you get a little bit of earthy hops as well. The first thing that jumped out at me was how carbonated it was, I expected a smooth porter but it kind of bites you on first sip, which isn't a bad thing. Overall, a solid coffee porter that lives up to its name.

Poured from a 32 oz. growler into a pint glass.
Appearance: After a very nice and surprising 'pop' when the growler opens, a very nice robust tan head rests on top of a deep ebony beer. The head fades, which I expect based on the ABV and the fact it came out of a growler.
Smell: The aroma has a full roasted malt character, a bit of dark unsweetened chocolate, and a full roast coffee flavor.
Taste: There is hardly any sweetness, just a slightly bitter roast malt and dark bitter chocolate presence that grows as the coffee works its way in. Toward the end a bit of earthy hops come in, but it is pretty light. As the bitterness wanes at the end of the sip, a bit of vanilla and cream come in.
Mouthfeel: The carbonation is more lively than smooth, and there is an oily coffee residue that comes in after each sip that is a bit unpleasant. The body is on the fuller side of medium, and it feels a bit acidic from the coffee.
Overall: This is a very nice coffee porter. The acidic coffee nature and the oily residue left over after each sip bring it down a bit.

Poured from tap into a TBC Pint.
Color: Very dark brown with a brown head.
Smell: Coffee, chocolate and cream.
Taste: Same as smell. Coffee, chocolate and cream.
Mouthfeel: Medium carbonation, slightly coarse with a dry finish.
Overall: This is a world class coffee porter! Should be called liqiud crack it's so damn good. When I first smelled the beer it was like floating on a creamy chocolate coffe cloud. They need to bottle it so I can have all my fellow BA's try the goodness. Cheers!

From a growler into my tulip.
A – Pitch black. No light at all. Big two full fingers of light mocha fluffy head. Sticky lacing all down the glass.
S – Huge roasted coffee smell. Sweet vanilla. Mocha.
T – Wow massive roasted coffee and malt taste. Beautiful. Follows the nose with a nice light and sweet vanilla. Dark chocolate, toffee, cream and mocha. Lightly smoky. Not a lot of bitterness as you might expect. It’s there but it’s negligible. Warming alcohol at the end but again light. Very nice.
M - Medium bodied. Nice soft and silky mouthfeel. As it warms it gets better. Creamy.
O – I’m a TBC homer but this was just fantastic. I am a huge fan of coffee porters so this was in my zone and it was just great. Nice flavorful coffee taste without a big bitterness. Creamy smooth and very, very drinkable.
