On tap at the brewery. Served in a pint glass.
Appearance - Golden, duh. Clear body. Big white head but not a lot of retention. Miniscule amount of foam at the collar.
Smell - Driven by pale malt. Has that distinct English nutty malt aroma. Just a hint of earthy hop. Faint aroma in all, but true to style.
Taste - Starts malty, but quickly overwhelmed by bittering hops. Still has some nuttiness, but missing the authenticity of the nose. Bitter earthy English hop finish
Mouthfeel - Well carbonated and drinkable but for the abrasive hop bitterness. Too aggressive for me.
Overall - Tough style. Pretty accurate even if I think the hops are too strong. Gets better as it warms, but that takes 3/4 of the glass when it's served as cold as it is at TBC.
