On tap at the brewery. Served in a pint glass.
Appearance - Brown with some transparency. Deep amber at points. Big khaki head with nice lacing and good retention.
Smell - Grapefruit hops all over. Nice citrus aroma. A little bit of nuttiness and with some concentration I get chocolate.
Taste - The hops are more balanced by the brown ale here. Orange and grapefruit hops up front. Caramel malts. Some toastier, darker flavors develop at the end, but a grassy hop flavor develops too to counterbalance.
Mouthfeel - A little bit green in the finish. Bitter. Medium high carbonation.
Overall - Had this while my English Barleywine warmed, so I admit to being a bit preoccupied by anticipation. This was pretty tasty though.
