It's on tap at Timothy o tool's in Gurnee. It's a clear amber with white head that is leaving a lace. There is not much scent and the beer is very evenly balanced. Mouthfeel is fuller in body with good carbonation. Overall it's ok.

Served in a shaker pint. Barely any head even though I saw come off he tap not more that name few seconds prior. No lacing. Little retention. Little aroma, but what is there is cardboard and caramel malt. Little hop expression for a DIPA. Taste is mildly malty with caramel malt, yeast, and mildly oxidized cardboard. A little sweetness and a lot of bitterness.
Geez, this beer tastes like a not very good homebrew. Not a good first impression for a new brewery.

Served in a snifter at The Firkin.

I've always felt "skull and bones" to be redundant... Anyway, this stuff pours a generally clear sunset brass topped by a half-finger of cream-white foam. The nose comprises tobacco, light grass, light greens, light cilantro, light grapefruit peel, light booze, and a smattering of caramel. The taste holds notes of caramel, sweet booze, mandarin orange syrup, light grapefruit peel, and greens. The body is a stolid medium, with a very light moderate carbonation and a fairly syrupy feel. Overall, things were just too sweet and boozy for my tastes...

Imperial IPA. Too light mouthfeel for American Barleywine.

Earthy hop aroma with sweet malt background. Dark orange with nice lace. Mouthfull of hops, earthy and citrus. Finish with a balance to candi. Low fruit, low esters. Final finish is dry.

Good string hop head brew

Skull & Bones Double Pale Ale was on tap today at the brewpub.

Dark burnished brass color, with an orange glint. Steadily rising carbonation visible. Sticky collar of lace, good retention. Bright clarity, you could see through it easily despite the darker color.

Grassy herbal pine and dried citrus peel, classic cascade aroma.

Flavors follow suit, amped up grassy bitterness, citrus rind, caramel maltiness. It's ok, and definitely drinkable, though left me craving more in terms of hops. Thankfully the Hard Tail DIPA delivered in that regard.
