Medium bodied black beer with a fruity/cherry nose and hints of roasted malt and dark caramel that finishes with a subtle tartness. The beer undergoes a secondary fermentation in sherry barrels and with the addition of tart cherries.

Let me start by saying i generally don't care for heavy fruit based beers, so when I was given this as an option at the local Irish pub I was hesitant.
I was completely shocked upon the first taste. The cherry was very subtle and not over the top. The rich flavors and smooth finish was refreshing.
I been a fan of this brewery for quite a while, and while there are a couple of their brews I don't care for, this one was outstanding.

Pours a black color. 1/4 inch head of a tan color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of cherry, roasted malt, sweet malt, wood, and liquor. Fits the style of an American Strong Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. There is also some bitterness and tartness. Tastes of sweet malt, roasted malt, wood, liquor, alcohol, cherry, hops, and a hint of coffee. Overall, good appearance, aroma, body, and complexity.
