Giving this beer a lower rating than regular Winter Grind, but because I could not pick up any of the Vanilla in the beer. Otherwise, just as good as the regular.

A really nice upgrade from regular winter grind. Vanilla really adds to what is already a very coffee forward beer. A light, easy drinking stout. Well done.

This beer smells of coffee, chocolate and vanilla. It pours dark with a good sized head. Tastes of coffee and chocolate and vanilla that all works together to create a smooth fantastic beer. Get one!

Pours a chocolate brown. Not completely opaque on the pour but quite dark in the glass. 2 finger khaki colored head. Dissipates slowly at first than goes all at once. Minimal lacing left behind.
Aroma is rich, dark coffee. Roasted malt. Vanilla, though not as strong as I might have expected.
Taste is coffee forward with vanilla following behind. Vanilla is more prominent on the tongue than the nose. Roasted malt, cream, and tobacco.
Moderate body with a creamy mouth feel. Coffee lingers, a bit bitter on the end. Medium carbonation.
A nice stout from Mother's. A bit simple but tasty. Good coffee flavor with vanilla complements.

Had this on tap at Instant Karma in Joplin, MO. Easier to drink than the regular version, the vanilla really cuts through the astringency & coffee grind bitterness. Body needs to be a bit thicker, but not as noticeable.
Bottle Version review:
Pours a very effervescent ebony with a sliver of mocha colored head.
S: Big time coffee, not much else
T: Follows the nose a little vanilla & mocha up front. Dryness as this warms, slight astringency, a little roastyness, some lactic notes. Finishes dry a little roasty with plenty of espresso
MF: Light/medium body, fairly lively carbonation
Drinks fairly easy, I will say I prefer the draft version, the only way this was better was the nose; overall rating of 3.6

On tap. Poured an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It smelled of vanilla, coffee and chocolate. Strong coffee taste with vanilla, toffee and chocolate.
