The Great Cobra Scare of ‘53 is an Ozarks style wheat ale with a bite. Refreshing and invigorating, it is as well suited to cobra hunting as it is to lazy afternoons in a hammock. A beer to enjoy when swapping yarns, telling tall tales, and reveling in the stories of your home town. A beer named in celebration of the sometimes surreal lore of the people whose spirit and resilience were displayed during the Cobra Scare. With the same intrepid spirit of our forbears some sixty years ago, rise to the occasion: slay one pint. Then slay another five. And let our cities evermore ring with the clamor of life in our Ozarks.

Gold in color with excellent clarity and a quarter inch of off white on top. The aroma is of lightly tart grapefruit and pale wheat. I’m tasting artificial grapefruit and pale wheat. The mouth is lightly carbonated, crisp, and refreshing.

Poured from 12oz bottle into glass. Best by date is stamped on label as '12/18/18'.
Mostly clear, straw colored body. Very slight head upon pouring ends up as an island and ring. Leaves behind small spots of lacing.
Aromas is wheat malt and lemon citrus.
Taste is tart and sharp from the wheat malt, also has a lemon/lime flavor that is tart.
Thin to medium mouth feel. Dry and refreshing. Decent carbonation. Pretty presentation in the glass with the rising bubbles.
I did not expect the tartness but this beer is suited for hot weather, in order to take advantage of the refreshing nature of each sip.

12oz bottle. Poured a clear, golden color with a small, white head of bubbly foam. It smelled of toasted caramel and fruitiness. It was surprisingly tart with some sweet caramel and wheat flavors.

Pours a slightly hazed gold with a thumb of eggshell colored head. Decent lacing & dissapointing head retention
S: A little bit of lemon
T: Tart lemon & watermelon, plus a little dryness. More of the same as this warms, dryness fades a little. Finishes lemony tart with a little lime
MF: Light bodied, lively carbonation up front, mellows out over time
Drinkable enough, but glad I only purchased a single

Poured from a can. Straw in color and slightly hazy with a small foamy head. Smells of bread and citrus. Taste follows the smell but ends with a slight tartness that makes this a nice refreshing beer.
