Black in color with no penetration to light. There’s a trace brown around two thirds of the rim and barely present on top. I smell peaty scotch, cocoa, and faint plums. I’m tasting a hefty dose of peaty scotch with smoke, loads of dark malt, and bit of chocolate. The mouth is dangerously silky smooth and warms the throat with alcohol. Outstanding!

13 oz. draft pour, Nice Creamy head on an inky oily pour. As an Isla scotch lover this is a Scotch stout dream. If you’re anywhere near Barley‘s kitchen taps, Shawnee KS this weekend stop and check out what’s left of over 50+ Rare imperial Stouts

Pours black with a finger of caramel foam. Head retention is okay. Aroma is peaty malt right from the initial pour. Hell, even opening the bottle. Peaty malt is accompanied by chocolate, toffee and toasty, roasty malts. Flavor profile is more of the same, with the peaty malt portion being a little more incognito. It has a touch of heat at the finish, but not much. Mouth feel is medium-thick with something between chalky and nappy as the texture. Overall, base stout is a little suppressed by the peaty scotch notes, but it at least remains coherent and cohesive.
Served in a 15.5oz Spiegalau tulip from a 22oz bottle.

Thanks to scarysun for filling me up with MILF…wait, that isn’t right. MILF night! MILF in a glass. Well, this review has nowhere to go but up. 22 oz. bottle split with my wife.
Black. Keine head at all. Smells like a peat t-shirt, mild sweetness, & burning 2x4s. Wait, that might be the fire I was just at. Either way.
MILF – Scotch Barrel Aged is a peat lovers dream. Peat, old peat, new peat, Pete that has been developing for centuries. Light smokiness, bit of earth from the old country around County Armagh, raisins, honeyed sweetness. Booze. Nice & thick as befits & all, but it may be difficult to drink the entire twenty two ounces. My wife took one sip & grossed out
Scotchy. Boozy. Hairy t-shirt. This beer is overpowered by the Glasgow effect. Might reach the heights if there was more beer to offset the barrel.

Pours jet black, very effervescent with a pink of caramel colored head. Zero head retention & lacing
S: Peaty/smokey, nothing else
T: Follows the nose, dryness, some boozeyness as wel up front. A little peaty, dry, plenty of barrel, a touch raw, some chocolate notes, plus a little coffee. Finishes with plenty of peat, dryness, some raw barrel & a little coffee
MF: Fairly thick, restrained carbonation,
Had higher hopes for this one, maybe a year or two of aging would help, just not a great marriage of flavors

On tap. Poured an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It smelled of scotch, roasted malt and toffee. Wow, there was too much scotch flavor. It overpowered any stout qualities.
