Pours black with two fingers of caramel-khaki foam that retains well. Aroma roasty and toasty malts cut with plums, scotch and bourbon - adding a razor-sharp line of heat and sweetness. Fig and caramel both add a little additional sweetness throughout the aroma, but pale in comparison to the heavy malt base and bourbon. Flavor profile is roasty, toasty, nutty, earthy and caramely malts with dense plum, fig, raisins, caramel and toffee. Flavor profile is just massive and rich - absolutely massive. Bourbon sweeps through for a touch of heat at the end, with just enough presence to keep the sweetness from lingering on the tongue, but not enough to singe the palate. Mouth feel is dense and thick with a full, velvety texture. Overall, this rich beast of a stout stands out after an odd aroma. It's thick, full and rich flavor profile is not marred by any flavor additives, instead allowing the malt base and whiskey a chance to sing.

Mothers does many things very well, so this one wasn't a surprise.
