12 oz bottle from Fayetteville Arkansas, poured into snowman chalice.
Has a nice dark black silk to it, rather obsidian in appearance, and forms a lush 2 finger head of beige. Recedes to a half finger and leaves lots of gorgeous hills of lace. Very impressive.
Aromas of metal shavings, cocoa nibs, and metallic roasted coffee. The metallic notes really overtake this nose.
Thankfully the flavor doesn't do this. Has a nice roasted malt presence bordering on coffee, with some slight cacao nibs and milk chocolate. There are slight metallic notes but not as heavy as the aroma.
Feel is slick and medium bodied, with some appreciable roast and slight dryness on the finish. Some compounding resins as well. Carbonation is high. Mild alcohol heat.
Overall, a run-of-the-mill porter that's neither exceptional nor terrible, it's something I'd order on tap if nothing else better was around. I would not however purchase this freely again in package as it's too unremarkable.

This brew, from a twelve ounce brown bottle, is a black beverage, with a thick tan head. The aroma is woody, roasty, and a bit herbal. Medium-dry in taste and full in body. Drinkable, but not extraordinary.

On tap. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, tan head of foam. It smelled of chocolate and coffee. Not much else. Tasted of toasted caramel, chocolate and faintly of coffee.

Pours jet black with chestnut hues & one fnger of tan head. Good head lacing better than average head retention
S: Tons of roastyness, dark fruit as well, some woody & nutty notes as well
T: Follows the nose, plenty of dryness, just a little charred grain as well up front. A touch of Baker's chocolate mixes with roastyness, with dryness & just a touch of woody hops. Finishes roasty, dry with a touch of caramel & charred grain
MF: Mediium body, firm carbonation, smooths out to creamy once warm
A damn good porter, not upper tier, but not far from
