On tap. Poured an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It smelled of rich, roasted coffee and toffee. Great roasted coffee taste with toffee and chocolate. Nice bitterness.

The color is midnight black and there’s no light penetration. There’s a fingernail of beige around the rim and a third of the top. The aroma is of very bold and dark roasted coffee. The flavor is an intense blast of dark, boldly roasted coffee that runs throughout the palate and lingers long after the fade. The mouth is lightly oily, dry, and viscous. The alcohol is well hidden.

Pours black with a finger of khaki foam. Head retention is good. Aroma is coffee, with notes of blueberry and fleshy fruit, and roasty, toasty, earthy malts. There is a little caramel and toffee up front. Flavor profile is coffee, with fleshy fruit and blueberry notes, and roasty, toasty, caramely malts. Really pleasant complex, coffee flavor profile. Mouth feel is smooth, with a lightbodied creamy texture. Overall, splendid underlying stout, with a beautiful coffee pairing. Well done.
