Black in color with no light penetration. There’s a fingernail of brown around the rim and covering half of the top. The aroma is of milk chocolate and coconut. I’m tasting milk chocolate and a strong coconut finish. The mouth is silky smooth and the alcohol is well hidden.

Pours an effervescent ebony with a thumb of mocha colored head. Below average head retention & average lacing
S: Chocolate, coconut, a little raisin & vanilla once warm
T: Follows the nose, dryness & cola notes, cocoa powder notes as well up front. Some leafy & woody hops sneak in behind milk & dark chocolate, vanilla & coconut, plus dryness as this warms. Finishes with coconut, vanilla, dark chocolate, a little dark cherry & dryness
MF: Smooth carbonation, medium/chewy body. Carbonation builds a little as this warms
Delivers on the advertised flavors without seeming fake or forced, ABV is well hidden

On draft. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It left sticky rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of chocolate, flaked coconut, toffee, bourbon and vanilla. Big chocolate taste with hints of coconut. Nice toffee vanilla and maltiness.

Great German Chocolate cake stout. The nose smells like a German chocolate cake, and the taste follows the nose. Heavy on the chocolate and light on the coconut, it’s a great beer. Thick and creamy mouthfeel, and one of Mothers best.
