Pours mahogany brown and settles almost black in the glass with a thick, creamy tan head that provides some nice lacing.
Coffee and vanilla notes on the nose, and those are the notes that define the taste, with a full mouthfeel that makes this a flavorful, really easy drinker of a coffee stout.

Can pours an effervescent chestnut with a sliver of tan head. Some lacing & head retention
S: Weakish coffee & vanilla, even that fades as it warms
T: Coffee is stronger on the tongue than the nose, some vanilla, woody hops & dryness up front. Coffee starts to water down as this warms, fairly dry with creamy vanilla, some astringent notes. Finishes dry with bitter coffee & chicory notes, plus some vanilla cram
MF: Light/medium body, restrained carbonation. Body thins out as this beer warms
This just not my thing, body is too light & the coffee flavors remind me of day-old coffee with some vanilla added

On tap at ITap CoMo. Poured an opaque, jet-black color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of roasted coffee, vanilla, chocolate and toasted bread. Strong vanilla flavors with rich coffee, chocolate and toffee.

Poured from a can. Very dark with a foamy tan head that dissipates fairly quickly. Smells of roasted grain, and coffee. Coffee and roasted grain are in the forefront on taste, seems a little more tame than normal Winter Grind but with a hint of vanilla in the flavor.

Pours completely black, with a brown head that vanishes quickly. Minimal carbonation and no lacing. The aroma is dominated by the malt + vanilla at this stage; the coffee smells are very minimal at this point. The coffee elements of the taste have held up a bit better (as a bittering balance to the lactose, etc.), and still has a nice roastiness from the malt that all Winter Grind variants have. The feel (and finish) are strongly reminiscent of root beer.
