330 ml bottle, 31.12.30 stamped on the label so figure it's still good for a while. Thanks to Brutaltruth for this! Served in a chalice, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head. Head retention is good and there's a decent amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like smoky Laphroaig whisky, burnt/charred malt, coffee and some dark chocolate. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some dark bread and earthy flavors noticeable. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's slick and smooth with a low amount of carbonation. I liked this one a lot, but then I like Laphroaig whisky a lot too so that influences my rating. Definitely worth a try, especially if you like Laphroaig or any other similar Islay whiskies!

From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter. This decent stout pours an oil slick
black with a modest head of khaki foam that settles to a thin ring, light
dusty layer, and sports some faint lacing. Nose of faint soy, char, roast,
light whiskey, and dark chocolate, and coffee. Flavors follow the nose with a smoked malt,
whiskey, char, oak, light soy, and dark chocolate, and dark coffee. Mouthfeel is full, slick, coating,
non existent carbonation, and a lightly dry finish.

Overall, interesting but would not try again. Muddled flavors and somewhat thin body
leaves this one a bit weak.

L: Pours a thick chocolate, forming a moderate espresso head that is slow to fade.

S: Strong aromas of scotch barrel, very smokey-peaty. Chocolate and coffee roast notes, with some malt as well. Very sharp and medicinal.

T: Follows the nose. Very clear Scotch barrel influence, for Scotch drinkers familiar with Laphroaig, this beer has an incredibly strong resemblance in flavor initially. Dark chocolate, coffee grounds, roasted malts all feature in the opening sip. Finishes warm and slightly spicy.

F: Full-bodied. Thick, oily mouthfeel. Minimal carbonation.

O: The scotch barrel really elevates this beer. There is a good base of chocolate, coffee, and malt which reminds you that this beer is a stout. No weak spots.
