(Right) Second crack from the box set. Whiskey raisins on the nose, w/ some oxidation that mellows pretty quickly. Hints of cola with time in glass. Palate w/ oaky tannin, relatively mild peat, & lots of dark fruit. Very good, give it time to breathe.

APPEARANCE: Pours a one finger, medium-thicker looking, light tan head with great retention. Dark maroon red or brown body with no carbonation evident. Head slowly fades to a ring leaving some dots of lacing down the glass. Beauty, just like every variant.
SMELL: Lots of oak and candy sugar on this one. Bold and boozy, with caramel and toffee aromas, butterscotch, some milk chocolate and coconut. Hints of red fruits underneath. Boozy, woody and sugary.
TASTE: Lots of whisky and alcohol, with coconut and milk chocolate up front and lots of vanilla sweetness as well. Big finish of whisky, coconut, vanilla, and milk chocolate, as well as some heavy toffee and butterscotch sweetness. Lots of whisky, vanilla and butterscotch, and some decent alcohol. Very bold and flavorful.
PALATE: Very full body with medium levels of carbonation. Creamy on the palate, goes down silky smooth and finishes sticky. A good amount of heat lingers. Excellent feel for the style, much like all the variants. Super full and creamy.
OVERALL: Champ of a variant here as well. Like the 15 month cognac version, this has all the right stuff in all the right places, but instead of cognac, it’s mostly straight whisky everywhere. Killer, and worth every penny. Thanks again, man! Epic set.

Christmas tasting at Steve's. The whole boxed set. Surprisingly mellow, minor whiskey notes, Woody. Peat and smoke. Some brown sugar too. slick and smooth, latent heat.
