IPA DDH with Phantasm Powder, Nelson Sauvin and Motueka hops. Phantasm Powder is a new product out of New Zealand, it is freeze dried Sauvignon Blanc grape skins. They have a ton of Thiols in them, the same thing that is in hops to produce the fruit characters.
We were lucky enough to be one of the few breweries out there to get some to play with. It really seems to take the hops to another level.

Pours a hazy golden color. Very opaque. Nice quarter inch whit head. This beer has a very unique smell. It takes your traditional hazy ipa characteristics and adds a smooth buttery quality to it. Same can be said for the taste. It’s very citrusy intertwined with a buttery smoothness. A nice floral tone in there as well. Overall, this guy is smooth, tasty, very enjoyable. Would highly recommend. Only downside is it’s a wee bit pricey.

This is the best Anchorage IPA I've sampled in a good while; bright, hazy gold with a white/off-white head...very floral and fruity all around, with strong white wine characteristics and green grape notes...lime, grapefruit, melon, orange and mimosa are all present too. Moderate bitterness, slightly musty too. I like the Nelson vibes, this one is ALMOST worth the $8...

A Tavour Treat. Pours a hazy gold color with a minimal head that lasts quite a while. Aroma of grapefuit and orange juice. Taste is tangy with a slight mustard flavor. Sweet with no hoppy bitterness at the finish.

Pale, hazy yellow-orange body; foamy white head, a bit thin overall. Fresh citrus smell; lemon and orange primarily; trace of malt, biscuit and oats. Bold, fresh flavors of orange and lemon; tangy; grassy; white grape. Medium body; crisp and acidic; subdued tartness.
Anchorage brewing continues to put out some overall fine hazy IPAs. This one satisfies overall. I'm not sure exactly what Phantasm powder is (despite the brewery's description of it) - pixie dust, I suppose...any way, the beer does have an interesting, new and hard to describe aspect to it, and if this amorphous ingredient that, I think, I detect is any indication of its potential, well, bring it on...!!!
Poured out at 54° F; no canning data noted.
