16oz. Can served in a tulip. Pours a dull, burnished orange, with a hazy clarity and a loose, quarter inch, off-white head embedded with ringlets and pinpricks. Nose is fairly subdued; however, notes of candied citrus and mango are present, as well as a light herbal quality. Taste consistent with nose - herbal character really dominates the middle and the backbone is quite malty. Mouthfeel is medium in body with a carbonation shy of assertive. Overall, just a bit too malty and flavors are a somewhat muddled.

Look: It pours cloudy dark orange with a white head that is like a pillow. Head retention is excellent.

Smell: It has aromas if lemon and citrus with light tropical fruits. There are some mango and papaya elements with orange.

Taste: It has citrus and orange flavors up front with some grainy sweetness. There are mango and papaya flavors with strong alcohol notes.

Feel: It has a medium full body with quite a bit of alcohol warming that is smooth, not harsh.

Overall, plenty of flavor, but a bit thick on the palate.

A: The beer is very hazy dark yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that never completely faded away and left a thin layer of bubbles on the surface and lots of lacy rings of bubbles down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of gooseberries are present in the nose along with notes of pineapple.
T: The taste follows the smell but has additional notes of pine that linger into the finish. The hops also contribute a moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels a bit more than medium-bodied and somewhat juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: You definitely get a sense that this beer is strong from its mouthfeel but it does a very good job at masking the alcohol from the taste.

Dark, murky orange body; one-finger plus thick head, dense and creamy. Wonderfully fresh citrus aroma; peach and tangerine. Big taste profile; oats, bitterness, and booziness; subtle citrus fruitiness. Heavy body; rich and velvety on the palate; semi-dry mouthfeel throughout with a bit of alcohol warmth.

This is a mighty fine imperial India pale ale. While not personally overly fond of hazy IPAs, this one is well done, especially with the smell and mouthfeel.

Poured at 44 °F; no canning data noted.

Appearance: A nice bubble show builds a two finger head over the cloudy amber liquid; excellent retention; leggy with streaks and clumps of lacing

Smell: Toffee malt aroma with dank, candied orange hops and a hint of vinous white wine grape

Taste: Dank and pithy forward with the toffee making a strong impression; stone fruit, white wine grape and candied orange peel tones build, through the middle; moderately high bitterness, after the swallow, with the sweetness lingering to balance; the hops win out in the end

Mouthfeel: Full bodied and sticky with moderate carbonation

Overall: A new fashioned old fashioned IPA from the days when balance and bitterness were important elements; this brings new school hops to the old school concept
