pretty epic that these guys are sending beer down to boise now, was blown away to see a number of their selections out in the wild this week. this is a sexy bottle, thought with the art and the name it might be more woodsy than tropical ingredients, but its done with passion fruit, guava, and key lime, nelson hops too, awesome mix of yeasts, which is why this is exciting, but i feel like we have seen a pretty similar combination of ingredients from these guys before no? either way, its wonderful, super light, pale straw colored with some flakey sediment towards the bottom and not holding very much head at all, but with enough carbonation when i drink it, really light looking, but maybe not their most refined in terms of appearance. the aroma is great, white wine and juiciness from the nelson, chardonnay and sauvignon blanc, some tang from the passion fruit and citrus brightness all coming together, plenty of oak, the lime is zesty and tart and natural too, a little more pucker from a bacterial element, some bretty funk too, mouthwatering, not too sour. the flavor is killer too, not sure i get much from the guava, but the rest of the fruit is awesome, lime and passion fruit both pretty bold to me, with some lemon notes from the ferment in the mix, white wine everywhere, nice clean oak profile, light vanilla there, with the lime it sort of hits like a gin drink, unique in that way, the brett comes out a little more as it warms, never all that sour, subtle pils and wheat malts underneath it all, this drinks real delicate and with more brett the longer it sits. good, really good, juicy and tropical, but maybe not quite as epic as i have come to expect from these guys, and the name doesnt fit the beer great to me. more than anything i am thankful that this is available here now!
