Canned 2/16/23
Another Tavour pick, this is my first hoppy offering from Anchorage. I know they absolutely kill it with Wild Ales, Barleywines, and other bold beers, so I'm wondering how that will translate into a NEIPA. Let's crack this open and find out
Pours a hazy pale gold with 3 fingers of soapy off white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves decent lacing
The nose has a brightness to it that places it squarely between NEIPA and WCIPA for me. I'm picking up on aromas of orange zest, mango juice, biscuity malt, lime zest, peppery hops, passionfruit, fresh cut grass, and a touch of caramel malt
The blend of coastal sub-styles carries through into the taste as well, making for well rounded experience. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting orange zest, bready malt, mango juice, grassy hops, papaya, light caramel, and white pepper. The swallow brings notes of orange juice, lime zest, passionfruit, biscuity malt, mango juice, peppery hops, and light honey
A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a crisp beer. Finishes a tad sticky unfortunately, but not too bad
This is good, but the mouthfeel knocks it down a bit. Still, I'd like to try more IPAs from Anchorage because this was enjoyable

Pours cloudy and mostly-opaque. Neon-ish yellow-orange color. Thick frothy white head. Aroma is loads of passion fruit with underlying notes of orange and lime. Taste follows the nose with notes of passion fruit, orange, lemon, lime, with a biscuity backbone. Feel is light to medium bodied. Smooth, a bit creamy, with moderate but prickly carbonation. Overall a very good, tasty NE style IPA.

HHJ, inviting nose, kinda bright, quite refreshing (post work). Mostly grapefruity, generally citrusy, moderately bitter up front and midpalate, with a bit of a thin feel. Kept picking up something in the finish and aftertaste (bready?, biscuity?...); settled on "cakey"
