Imperial Stout aged for 7 months in Heaven Hill barrels. Then transferred to Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Barrels for an additional 16 months. To finish it off, it is conditioned on rich additions of hazelnuts, raw coconut, and Madagascar vanilla beans.

Tar black, but somehow fluid, with absolutely no head.

A big coconut nose doesn't translate to the body. Though hazelnut comes out in the finish, it's chewy, dry and tannin heavy, making it quite sharp and hot.

No bottled dated. Purchased from Tavour May 2023. Poured at 56°. Fizzy reddish brown head vanished immediately; no cap, ring nor lace; small flecks and an oil slick from the coconut; heavy legs on swirl; black with ruby edges. Bourbon, coconut and chocolate nose; boozy retro nasal. Bourbon, chocolate, coconut followed by oaky vanilla; hot alcohol bite on tip of tongue; sweet bourbon finish; some nutty notes as beer warms. Thick almost chewy feel; heavy body; light carbonation; dry oak barrels tongue coating; full on mouth warmth from 15% abv. Overall a decadent powerhouse BBA stout with layers of chocolate and coconut swirls in bourbon; sweet but not cloying.

This one pours out looking like chocolate pudding.

Nose is that distinct Anchorage stout bouquet. Sweet coconut, mixed with rich chocolatey malt, and the slight touch of barrel aging. The hazelnut shows up on the nose as a more ambiguous nutty scent. Slightly reminiscent of pistachios.

The taste is similar to the nose but expands upon the concepts. Chocolate, coconut, caramel, nuttiness, savoriness, slight bourbon and oak.

Mouthfeel is fullbodied, smooth and dense very much like all of the other Anchorage stouts.

Standard fare for Anchorage. Good stuff. All of the flavors come together quite well.

Finishing its last sixteen months in Woodford Reserve's most prized bourbon barrels, Anchorage's latest pastry stout first spends seven months in Heavenly Hill barrels to get things started.

Jet black and pouring like thatch, You're Mine is shy on any meaningful froth leaving the stout ominously still. Laying claim to a metric fuckton of hazelnut, coconut and Madagascar beans, the sultry and savory scent of cake shops wrap around the assertive whisky spices along with chocolate, espresso, port wine and dried fruit. Slathering the tastebuds with a reckless amount of dessert sweetness, the bold chocolate flavors come with brown sugar, molasses, cake batter and java milkshake.

As the chewy stout seeps into the middle palate, the tastebuds saturate in true dessert fashion. As the stronger whisky influences rise to cut through the residual sweetness, the flavors of caramel, vanilla, coconut, cherry and nutty oak come in a more natural way. But the additions of vanilla, coconut and hazelnut cover up more of the barrel's nuances before a more port-like savory taste rounds out the session in chocolate and fortified wine pairing.

Full, chewy and pleasantly cloying, the Imperial Stout finishes rich, creamy and plush on the palate. Nearly tart with fruit and wine influences, hints of date, raisin, plum and fig extend into a bold sherry and bourbon aftertaste.

Pours jet black. Aroma is a nice balance of sweetness, vanilla, oaky and hazelnut. I did not smell any coconut. The taste is equally complex with the vanilla, oak, hazelnuts, whiskey and slight amount of coconut. Mouthfeel is full and oily. I thought this was a very strong stout from Anchorage.

poured from a 375mL gold-waxed bottle into a TG DBA tumbler. pours jet black and thick with a few bubbles that fade away quickly. whiskey sting, strong oak, chocolate, vanilla and light coconut on the nose. taste is big barrel, chocolate, coconut and vanilla beans with a light hazelnut in the background. thick mouthfeel with a lower level of carbonation. this is really good. even with all the additives there’s still a ton of barrel. the vanilla and coconut are sweet but the barrel cuts it and the hazelnut provides a nutty finish that rounds things out. really good.

Oily black pour, brown ring. Let's start with the taste it is very boozy, like hot boozy bourbon with not nearly as strong hazelnut and oak following behind. Big coconut and vanilla try to cool with tones of chocolate fudge and caramel, but it is just so boozy even in the end, like a cheap college mixed drink. Nose is WAY more balanced, still plenty of barrel but everything else melds into it appropriately, what could have been. Feel suffers from the booze, cutting out depth that anchorage stouts usually have, hot, yet still thick though lighter. A rare miss for these dark beer masters of the great northwest

A lovely 12 oz. bottle with thick, thick, thick gold wax. And I have to stop buying these Anchorage bottles. The cost is pushing my retirement date back.

The pour is black & stills quickly. The nose is very sweet, with hazelnut, vanilla, & a touch of barrel. The coco-nut is missing.

You’re Mine doesn’t capture the magic of some big Anchorage beers. It’s the hazelnut. It’s strong & upfront, & some of the additives (not to mention those beautiful barrels) are hanging on for dear life trying not to get kicked out of the nest. The next impression is that it is thick, the next cousin to sipping a taster of maple syrup. Faint coconut, sweetness that may be the vanilla, & the barrels show in a deep, low rumble under the breastbone (& the accompanying warmth). Boozy, but in a brain-addling rather than hot sort of manner. This small bottle should put me out for at least eight hours.

A really good beer, but when you’re charging a day’s wages for one bottle, it needs to be perfect. Every. Damn Time. This one is jolted with too much hazelnut. Unbalanced.
