i have kind of been waiting for this from these guys, it makes too much sense as a supplement to all the heavy barrel aged and intense hoppy beers they make, and with how well they do everything else, they were always going to make an awesome pils, sure enough they did. this has that decocted completeness to the grain, simple as this is overall, that i really like, not sure how they made it, but i would guess with traditional mash methods. i like that it appears to be unfiltered too, leaving a little more character in it from malt and yeast both, but its light enough to be well crushable even still, lovely texture to this, light enough and with excellent carbonation, refreshing for being so grain forward and frankly flavorful overall. the hops are all on the back end, noble to me, classic in a way, but the potency is higher, and the freshness of this really makes it stand out, polished just enough. bitter and crisp to finish, but not totally dry or absolutely snappy, its refreshing but in the sense that its easy and satisfying, not in the sense that its completely gone on the swallow, maybe a critique from some, but i like it a lot. really good balance to this, great water chemistry evident, and with a wonderful malt flavor that seems enhanced compared with so many of its peers. a good addition to their lineup and a beer that should absolutely crush it for them. long overdue!
