I love a good Kölsch and love when Anchorage takes a stab at some classic styles, so this sounds like an instant hit to me. I’m excited to try this one so let’s get right into it
Pours a slightly cloudy bright yellow with 3 fingers of soapy white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves nice lacing
The nose is bright and spicy though not as fruity as I prefer. I’m picking up on aromas of white pepper, lime zest, crackery malt, raw grain, grassy hops, honey, pithy grapefruit, and light weed
Perhaps I just let this one sit too long, as it doesn’t really have much definition in taste. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting white pepper, lemon zest, pithy grapefruit, grass, bready malt, floral hops, and light honey. The swallow brings notes of doughy malt, earthy wheat, lime zest, white pepper, grassy hops, honey, and raw grain
A light medium body pairs with moderate carbonation, resulting in a crisp beer. Finishes a tad sticky but dries out quickly
Maybe it’s a bit old and certainly far from my favorite Kölsch, but it gets the job done. Something tells me that even fresh this was probably a touch too hoppy for the style

poured from a 16oz can into a 2nd shift “you deserve this!” stange. pours a clear golden color with almost two fingers of white foam head. crackery, bready malt with light floral hops on the nose. taste leans more on the hops but there is some decent lager characteristics milling about in the form of white bread and lager yeast flavors. medium-full mouthfeel with a good amount of carbonation to it. kölsch is such a weird and interesting style. i enjoy them but lately every time i drink one i ask myself “why are you just not drinking a helles or a pilsner?”

Clear decently carbonated golden body with a full pearl white head. Floral and lemon hops with kolsch yeast for smell. Taste is hoppy in a floral and earthy way, yeast added 2/3 of the way through. Feel is bright and hoppy, too hoppy honestly, getting into the ipa in disguise mode
